Course Desription
Learn the basics when it comes to the computer in a relaxed and friendly environment? This course introduces you to the computer - from file management to how to use Google, to using search engines and understanding security issues and risks involved when using the internet. Also creating and using email and learning how to use cloud storage.
We will explore various topic over the duration of the course including:
· Introduction to how the computer works.
· Basic Concepts of IT - file management.
· Introduction to Word Processing - Microsoft Word.
· Introduction to the Internet & social media: Internet discovery: Differentiate between different Internet Browsers. Exploring Websites Google image/word searches - the how to: Utilise Googles search engine to search for information. “Savvy Searching”
· Creating Email accounts, Sending emails: attachments & links – Cloud storage
· Internet Security, Online Safety, Communication & online File Storage

Collette has been working in the IT sector for almost 20 years and is teaching IT within the community for over 8 years and is an accredited ECDL trainer. Collette takes great pride in delivering the course content in a friendly relaxed environment.

Improve your computer skills with this this course. This course is designed for those who have basic computer skills, for learners to develop their proficiency in file management, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint.
We will explore various topic over the duration of the course including:

· Word Processing - Microsoft Word – Including Formatting, Paragraphs- Design tab - Print setup, Mail merge and more.
· Spreadsheets - Microsoft Excel. Managing Worksheets, Rows & Columns, Sorting data & Formulas and functions. Formatting: Creating, editing different Charts/tables. Print setup and more.
· Introduction to Presentations - Microsoft PowerPoint. Insert tab: Slides, Pictures, Tables, Charts, Smart Art, Text boxes, Links, Videos & Audio and how to use Slide Master and more.
