Pilates - Beginners
Meet The Tutor
My name is Laura O’Hara, I am a qualified Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor, gaining my mat work level 1 & 2 qualification with APPI (The Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute) 4 years ago. Together with teaching Pilates, I work as a Physiotherapist in an acute Hospital and am a busy Mum of 3 children. I began practicing Pilates a number of years ago to help increase core strength after the birth of my first child. I fell in love with Pilates after seeing the improvements in my overall strength, flexibility and mental health, and wanted to teach it to others. My aim is to empower my client’s to be able to embrace Pilates at any fitness level. |
Course Description Pilates was developed by German-born Joseph Pilates, who believed mental and physical health were closely connected, and practising Pilates has been proven to improve overall wellbeing as well as general fitness. It is a challenging low impact exercise method that balances strength with mobility, aligns the body, fine-tunes movement patterns, and strengthens the deeper, postural muscles of the core. |
