Course Description: The Business Administration Skills Course is a QQI Level 5 Course, certified by the Open college. The classes take place in Palmerstown Community School, Dublin 20. This course is scheduled to commence on Tuesday the 27th September 2022. The course will run for 6 weeks with classes delivered every second Tuesday evening from 6.30 - 9.30pm. The course will be delivered in partnership with the open College. This course is designed for people who wish to work in the Business, Finance, Administration and Marketing sectors.
Topics covered will include The Organisation, Finance, Money, Banking, and Foreign Exchange: Human Resources: Preparing for Meetings: Processing Business Documents. The course is an elective component in the Major Award "Office Administration Skills" and a mandatory componement in "Business Administration Skills". All course handouts/notes will be provided by the tutor. There are 2 assignments to be submitted during the course and a 2-hour exam is held on the last week of the course.
Meet The Tutor: The course tutor is Henry Sheehan. Henry is a highly experienced tutor and is currently employed as a Director in a Law firm with responsibility for several support services. He has a wealth of industry experience in Financial Services, Retail, Private Health Care, Public Sector, Telecommunications, Software and the Legal sector and has worked as an associate lecturer and trainer with a number of colleges and professional bodies for the past twenty years. Henry holds a BBS in Procurement and Supply Chain, is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering and holds a certificate in Training and Development (HETAC Level 6). Has a Level 7 from NQAI in Health and Safety and holds a Level 9 in Education and Training. He is passionate about his subject matter and is most approachable and uses a wide range of techniques to enhance learner interest.

Course Description: In this QQI Level 6 Business Management course you will learn about a range of organisations from Sole Traders, Private and Public organisations, Partnerships and Co-Operatives, they will also learn about their mission statements, visions, their objectives, and structures. You will learn how to conduct a SWOT analysis in an organisation, in other words looking at the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities that face an organisation and the student will also learn about external factors that impact upon an organisation by conducting a PEST analysis. (Political, Economical, Social and Technological) You will be taught how organisations manage and adopt to change and will also learn about the role of management in terms of planning, controlling, measuring performance within an organisation and learn about the different leadership styles and their impact on both groups and individuals in the organisation and about the Human Resources function and the key role it plays within an organisation in terms of selection, appraising employees, managing and resolving conflict with an organisation. Finally you will earn about the various management skills needed to succeed and to be successful in an organization Assessment: Assignment 1 - 20% Assignment 2 - 20% Project - 60%
