TUTOR - EVAN MCKENNA
I’m a stained glass artist from County Louth, Ireland. I studied at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, where I specialised in stained glass and developed a real love for traditional techniques. I’m currently back at NCAD doing my master’s, continuing to build on my skills and explore new directions in my practice.
Since graduating, I’ve been fortunate to receive the Graduate Award for Excellence in Glass from the Glass Society of Ireland, as well as a 2024 Future Makers Award from the Design & Crafts Council Ireland. I’ve also had the chance to learn from some incredibly talented artists and makers along the way. I really enjoy sharing what I’ve learned so far and helping others get started with stained glass in a relaxed and practical way. Hands-on stained glass course where you’ll learn everything from start to finish using the copper foil technique. |
Beginners Course: No experience needed! We’ll go through the entire process — from choosing your design and cutting glass, to foiling, soldering, and finishing your piece. You’ll leave with your own handmade panel and the skills to keep exploring. Improvers Course: For those who’ve done a bit before and want to develop their technique further. We’ll focus on refining your cutting and soldering skills, tackling more complex shapes or patterns, and exploring more creative freedom in your designs. |
